I was talking to a girlfriend on the weekend. I made an analogy which she liked, I thought you might like it too. I said, "You shouldn't have to work too hard in a relationship. If one person works too hard and the other one doesn't try hard enough it's like two people sitting in a rowing boat one of them rowing fast and the other rowing slowly; they will just go round and round in circles. Literally, they won't get anywhere ..." I am happy for her, she is getting a lot stronger ...

The analogy is not valid. Maybe the purpose of the trip is turn around and around and around. That might be the joy. Maybe they are turning a big circle and one must row stronger.
well i've got to say that i can't think of anyone who would want to go round and round since it will never give you the fulfillment of a relationship; but if you say so i'll count in an anonymous person ...
needless to say the speed at which one would decide to take the relationship is another thing which again would require partnership ...
